Privileged Communication

1 replies 10 views Edited Jan 14, 2007
I have to write a debate for Tuesday, and what my argument basically is is, "In the criminal Justice System, truth seeking ought to take precedence over privileged communication. Privileged communication is a private statement that must be kept in confidence by the recipient for the benefit of the communicator. What I need help with is what should I use as my story for backing up my case. I was thinking watergate, but the other debater could use that better than I could, saying that some things needed to be covered up. Also, I need some historical evidence to show the importance of the topic. Basically, if you are still confused, what I am saying is finding the truth in a case is more important, and they are saying keeping confidential information is more important.
