what use is a strip of brass on the pavement of Greenwich to sailors?!?!?

the strip has nothing to do with sailors, its the direction its pointing that give the sailors a sense of direction, were is north and south.

thats what stars are for

but you dont get clear skies every night, you know. plus you dont get to see the stars during day time. so what to use...the strip.

well for you to use the maps and keep track of your movements, you will need the strip to point you in the right path. btw the sun dont shine that offend in England, it rains most of the time and its cloudy, ask astro94. lol

Yep it rains all the time and the climate is Temperate so it's pretty difficult to predict the weather for the next week.
