PC problem... Help plz?

9 replies 1 views Edited Dec 27, 2006
My computer totally screwed up this morning, and I found out my object dock screwed it up a bit aswell. My object dock is set to start up with windows but when it does my taskbar completely dissapears. Then I have to close object dock to get my taskbar back. I had no idea it was object dock that screwed my taskbar so I restored my system back 2 days, which fixed the taskbar issue because I didnt have object dock 1.5 then. But then after the restoration all of my firefox bookmarks were gone, all 6 folders of them (around 80 or so). I had some very important bookmarks in there which I use all the time and I can't remember all of them. So I quickly went undo last restoration, so it did that and thats when I found out I just have to close object dock because I remembered I had only updated my object dock 1.3 to 1.5 just over a day ago. So I was happy that my taskbar was back but then I went back into firefox and hoped because I undid the last restoration that my Bookmarks would come back but they are still all gone. All I do on this computer is use the internet and photoshop, so my bookmarks are my life on here lol. Could anyone please help me or give me any suggestions to how I could get my Firefox bookmarks back? and no they arent in my IE favourites folder either because I never use IE.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Yeah that would have been a good idea if I knew that it was the problem before I did the system restore.

I did a google search and got this
The bookmarks.html is stored in the following folder

Document and Settings\your account\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxx.defaultThis is for someone whos firefox wouldn't work so they need to get their bookmarks, so I doubt this will work but it's worth a try I guess. do some digging around in youre firefox folder. If it doesn't hopefully google can help.
