Next-gen gaming might be bringing back the gameplay factor! (56k)

Well from my standpoint, after the n64 and sony playstation games got pretty weak.... They
just sorta played on the graphics, trying to make them better and better... Games really were'nt
that fun anymore... I mean online brought back gameplay, but when you lagged out, or had other
gamers lagging like crazy, well it just made an hour of wasted time... It seems now that with over 70%
of internet users having broadband (read a census, i'll try to find it if you wanna question me, lol), the lag
issue is being dealt with. The graphics have been ramped up, not so much in the realistic sense, but more
in the not jagged lines and polygon looking characters way... hope i didn't lose you there, lol... But yeah even
as I thought bringing these two factors up from the dirt of the ps2 and xbox, they went back to the old NES ways
and brought gameplay back into games... Games just seemed slow after playing megaman, sonic, teenage mutant
ninja turtles II, and all the other great classics.... Gears of war IMO is a great example of this, and I think developers
are doing a much greater job with games today......

I mean ewwwwwwwwww to this

It's pretty repetitive. The only thing fun is seeing new enemies.

yeah, but really, what game isn't repetitive? Gta you steal cars and do missions, socom you
shoot people, halo you shoot people, ace combat you fly and shoot planes, everything is repetitive...

I want more action/adventure oriented games. I've seen enough with shooters. Half Life 2 raised the bar for the thinking man's FPS(or any shooter for that matter) and it's even hard to imagine what Valve has in store for for the next episodes or even Half Life 3 if they choose to continue.

ya, i wanna see side scrollers... idk why developers think no one wants them anymore... Mario, megaman, metroid, donkey kong,
contra were just some ****** great games........ If they think its past gen, then they need to get the clue that not many people care
about this next gen stuff, so long as the graphics are aight, and gameplay is amazing.... so with a side scroller they could make the
best graphics ever seen..... urg, im sure we'll still get some pretty kickin games tho
