My new Vizio 42" HDTV is freakin' sweet.. In this picture I'm Playing Skyrim on my PC with Max Settings. No lag at all.. PS3 games look amazing, Little Big Planet 2 is really nice looking.. I have to be 10' away just to see the whole screen.. I have a set of Yamaha speakers hooked up and for a good reason, the TV speakers suck. what tv speakers don't??

People on walmart . com Trash talk this TV, I say they have no bloody clue what they are talking about.. this is a great tv, for under $400 its not bad..  Some people are never satisfied, as for me, I love it.. Over air HD programming looks immaculate.. I'm under 35 miles from a Major city, and gotta say, I'm in a great area for over air reception, flat terrain for a 100 miles, under an hour from ST. Louis.. Can't wait to watch some Cardinals Games on this bad ass TV.. I just got it less than 24 hours ago.. The one thin I'll have to get used to is the Vizio Logo NIGHT LIGHT.. No one in the walmart reviews even mentions the led vizio logo never turns off, I guess they didn't really own it?? Anyways, All My Games, movies look so good..  no dead pixels, If you can get Vizio E421VA it's labeled as a 120 hz tv but isn't, even says so on the SKU label, 120Volts ~ 60hz  1.8Amps  So I guess Vizio made a fluke on the box label?? But the only time it's noticable is Netflix HD streaming, it does a snap shot effect.. But the main usage is PS3 games, and other entertainment center stuff.. For a TV I didn't have to pay for (it was Gifted) I can't complain..

Vizio does make good TVs. I have a 23" 1080p Vizio that I am happy with. The best thing I like about Vizio is that their low prices have driven down the prices of the other TV manufacturers in the market...

Technically, tv's drop in value over time because manufactoring costs go down as The Tv companies get more supplies to make said tv's.. Brand has nothing to do with it..  Just like with the PS3, launch models used to be $650 after taxes, now they are roughly 50% less.. Sony is still selling them at a loss, but makes up that loss in the $60 games, and all the PS Home virtual items go straight to Sony, 3d tv's will eventually be much cheaper, then Holographic Tv's will come out those tv's will be more like the Star wars Chess table on the Falcon.. but look as good as the VR characters look on the PS VITA.. I saw a Patent for a Holgraphic Disc on the web a few years ago.. don't know if it will be cheap anytime soon, back then each disc cost as much as a CAR.. the players cost as much as a house.

I agree that TV's drop in value because of decreased manufacturing costs over time, but I do believe that Vizio's existance help accelerate that process. When Vizio entered the HDTV market years ago, they were priced significantly below everyone, and they later became the #1 seller of HDTVs in this country. Because of that the competition seemed to lower their prices fairly quickly to stay competitve. But this is my opinion.

Sony isn't selling the PS3 at a loss anymore, this has been true for at least the last year. Most of the profits comes from game, accessory, and royalty payments from 3rd party publishers. Recent reports show that even the Vita isn't being sold at a loss.

I don't know about holographic TVs, but the next step from 3D is autostereoscopic 3DTV, like you see in the 3DS, and variousl companies are working on bringing that to the home at a reasonable price..

I love Vizio. I have a Vizio 26" LCD 720p HDTV  in my room and a 46" 1080P LCD TV at my condo. They're both awesome TV's, and for Price, they're great.

I remember reading a review on the Sharp, and the conclusion was that the yellow pixel didn't really add too much to the picture.

Sharp seems to be concentrating on making the largest LED TVs now with sizes as large as 70" & 80".
