Mortal Kombat on the Snes

So why on the SNES do the fatalities suck? Are the gorey ones only on the Sega or something? Or was it removed eventually on the snes?

The first Mortal Kombat was censored by Nintendo. It had better graphics and sound than the Genesis version, but the good Fatalities were removed.
 
But MK2, MK3, and UMK3 were direct arcade ports.

Nintendo learned their lesson after that holiday season There was a pretty big fan backlash and the Genesis version did better.
 
It was funny reading the Nintendo Power review of the game. They praised the new Fatalities saying things like it helped keep the game new

Haha. The new( for the time ofcourseSmiley Tongue) ones are lame as hell compared to the brutal ones.
