This is an announcement for a new community event.
(The Community Events forum is now closed.)
Monday nights, between 8 and 9 PM, Eastern, there will be some open races during which you can meet some of the people who help and guide you in the PlayStation forums. There will be limited room available, but please try to attend.
Game: Gran Turismo 5
Race details: Monday Night Racing
Monday: August 27
Time: 8 PM - 9 PM (or later, depending on interest) Be on time!
Track: Grand Valley Raceway, reverse (hopefully less trouble on the first corner...)
PP range: maxed at 630
Tires: Racing Softs (RMs didn't cut it)
Laps: 7 (this extends the time enough to make a pit stop necessary)
Tire wear: Low
This combo is to highlight using care with the accelerator and to control tire wear. Tires get best results on the 2nd and 3rd laps. By the fifth lap, you should be getting into trouble. Don't push your luck any further. So the question is, do you pit on the 3rd or 4th lap?
You should be able to get around 1'50 laps, at best, but remember - there are sand traps, and be careful when exiting hairpins.
Racing will start on time, so be early.
I'll try to open around 7:30.
New races every 20 minutes.
The link to the event thread is in my sig.
What time zone are those times in? It may conflict with another series I'm already in.
Come and race with some MVPs and HCVs every Monday evening!
Now that everyone is back for school, we will be using the karts on Kart Space I, so make sure you have either/both of the 100 or 125 karts and the track DLC.
Check out the details in the link above and, please, be early.
Sounds cool. I haven't played much online GT5. I mostly play GT mode. I have a G25 wheel that's collecting dust in my closet because I don't have a small table to mount it on lol. So I play on pad . Every time I play online its full of little kids trying to "drag race" with their little hondas . I'll try to remind myself about these weeklies .
