by win i would mean how many people enjoyed which system the most...

i guess we cant really know that?

console sales do not mean people enjoyed the console the most

it could mean that the console broke alot and people rebought

which might mean if they liked it enough to break and rebuy

i might find sales as an enjoyment factor which makes wii the winner

I think it's usually a trend to say the console you own won, if you own several you're only allowed to say "gamers won".

And where did microsoft shipped those 3.9m ? Majority in the US ?

Keep seeing here and there that there's plenty of Xbone on shelf, feels like they could have actually launched in more than 13 county easily in the end.

They probably shipped most of them to the US. There's still 900k consoles waiting to be sold to consumers.

Shipped means what the stores have to sell. Gamestop orders consoles from Microsoft and then sells them to the consumer. Sales are only what the consumer buys. If the consumer buys them up, Gamestop orders more. What Gamestop ordered is "shipped". What people bought from Gamestop is "sold"

Yes, but it is like that for every single item you buy. They are put on a shelf and people buy them. There may be extras that go unsold (and this may end in some sort of clearance sale)
