MGS3 is a key part to understanding MGS4.

He obviously hasn't played it.

You kidding me? I've played it over and over and over. You don't need to play it to understand MGS4.

Actually you do.

I still don't believe it, they did say "at this time". Part of the rumor was it would release after the PS3 version. I think it would be smart of the guys that make MGS to do it on the 360. They won't make nearly as much money off of the ps3 games as they would both systems.

Not too many 360-only buyers would get MGS4. I mean come on, what's the point of releasing the 4th game on a console that hasn't had the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd?

The Xbox has had a metal gear solid game..........

Which was very inferior to the PS2 counterpart.

Are you on crack?

MGS2: Substance got a 7.5 on PS2

MGS2: Substance on the xbox got an 8.7

I don't go by game reviews, I go by experience.

Yeah sure you don't.

I don't.

If it doesnt come out for 360 I hope there will atleast be a PC port. Smiley Surprised....Or maybe the PS3 will have enough good games for me to finally make the buy, by the time MGS4 comes out.

Is there an estimated release date? Or anything like that?

Once again when we look at the reliable reviewers it scored good. Take a look at Game Informers 9.3. I mean look at the crappy reviewers that metacritic accepts. Maxim online? That is a jokeSmiley Very HappySmiley Very HappySmiley Very Happy I love maxim and FHM but I don't read their magazines for intellegent gaming journalism.

So who sets the standard for reliable? We all know that some are to taken less serious than others but they're out there and being counted as an average for a reason.

Fairly simple if you put a game like MGS4 on to a system with players that have no direct knowledge of the game players will be lost. They wouldn't know who Foxhound was. They Probably wouldn't know who Liquid nake is and how he became Liquid Ocelot, They wouldn't know Snake is actully some sort of clone of the Big Boss. There so many parts and of past games that be have been mention and will me mention on MGS4.

And if you do something like that and put it on a System where players have no clue whats going on there be alot of complaints, and confusion.

Hideo Kojima is making MGS very complex when it comes to infomation about what has happend in the past and he picks alot of pieces of it and puts them all together into this one game and it becomes lil more clearly after every game.

Where do you think Xbox fans came from? Before they owned xbox's or 360's they owned playstations. You would be suprised how many times I am playing GRAW and my fellow teamates and I talk about socom or God of War or MGS. These people are gamers. They know about MGS and they have played the previous games.

Take me as an example. I own a PS2 and I decided not to get a PS3. I know about all of the PS games but I own a different console now. Konami would have a big market for the game on the 360.

I hope the game comes over to the 360 just like I hoped that Oblivion would go to the PS3 for the PS3 owners. Why can't we just be gamers. Why do people have to be such stingy console fanboys and exclusives fanboys?

K.
MGS3 is the beginning of the explanation of Big Boss' actions later in life. These actions mold the events of MGS1 and MGS2. His creation of the regime Outer Heaven, his rise to earn the rank Big Boss, his first encounter with Ocelot, and the death of the The Boss, the worlds greatest soldier. In the MGS4 trailer we see that even 40 years after the creation of Outer Heaven, it's still going. Details are a bit scarce but Outer Heaven is intervening in world affairs.

To understand Portable Ops you have to have played MGS3.  Portable Ops may have actually given away 3 members of the Patriots. At the end Ocelot is talking to his superior and says he wants Big Boss to join him so they can become the Patriots. MGS4 isn't out yet so I honestly can't wait to see how this affects MGS4.

Also, Snake Eater may have been a conspiracy. It's said in PO that Volgin firing the Davy Crocket was planned by one man, the man with the same codename as the ninja Null. Null is supposed to mean nothing. The man with the codename nothing, Nothing = 0? Major Zero?

We'll have to wait and see, but I think Kojimas reason for making MGS3 and MPO is finally making sense.
