Linux..

Ok well, im planning on Dual Booting my Mac with Ubuntu Linux, but before i start the procedure, what risks are there of me doing this?

Probably the biggest risk is there is a chance of losing all of your saved files. Just back up all important files, apps, and data on a few DVD's, and you should be fine.

Ubunto is kind of pointless if you have a mac, doesn't add really any features...

just out of curiosity.... what would happen if you put windows, linux, and the mac os all on a mac. what would u call it a tri-boot?

When you are trying to install, just use the third option, and edit the partition table manually.

And, just run a LiveCD, to see if you'll like it.....

Well, first of all, BACK UP ALL YOUR FILES. Cannot emphasize that enough here. Also, be ready to restore your computer if you need to.

Also, you're probably going to run into hardware driver issues in Ubuntu.

Plus, Ubuntu won't really make you life much better if you already have OS X
