Legitimate Question

[ Edited ]
14 replies 149 views Edited Sep 7, 2013

A buddy of mine (NOT ME) I wont say his user name he is a current member of the XB community.

He will be getting the PS4 to start the new gen.

He posted a question on there forums basically asking what can the " ALL in 1 Entertainment Box" XB1

due that the 360 can't already do, minus new games.

Not 1 person could give an answer. They just kept derailing the ? And saying why your not going to get one.

So I will ask my community what does the PS4 offer me that the PS3 doesn't already do, minus new games.

Hopefully we can see how much more mature these forums can be.

Let's hear it.

Re: Legitimate Question

This is all right off the top of my head:

  • Playing music while in-game
  • Playing a game while it's downloading
  • Better social media integration (Facebook/Twitter on PS3 is pretty poor)
  • Better friend grouping
  • Improved XMB (no longer called the XMB, can't remember the name)
  • Improved hardware allows for higher quality games
  • Gaikai allows games to be streamed from the Cloud
  • Share Button allows us to record game video to upload to the web
  • Enhanced jumping in and out of games
  • 2,000 possible friends, far more than 100
  • Cross-play between Vita will be a higher priority
  • Cross-game chat

All off the top of my head. I probably missed some things.

Which should be able to be backwards compatible.

I'm pretty sure they're already making some PS3 games available for Gaikai. I heard a rumor that The Last of Us was one of the first titles to be made of Gaikai, so if that's true, then it can be used for other games on PS3 and maybe other older games.

Man I cannot wait to get this beast in my house.

When I had my PS2 and the PS3 was announced I remember being interested and excited but never close

to the way I feel about the PS4. Look at my sig I have had a few consoles in my life. All of them gave me hours upon

hours of entertainment. But, none of them ever had me so interested in the consoles future and what the possibilities were.

Great list, I'll add one thing:

Better graphical memory and processing.  More overall memory.
