A financial success with a plot flop..

Seemed like the movies main plot didn't even really start until 45 minutes in....Which is about when me and my fiance turned it off and watched TV instead. Not evern close to the impact the first abramTrek movie had on me.

Regardless of what your opinion is, the film was a success. Even Twilight

I will concede. Yes. It was a financial success.

Looks like the prequel Star Wars were a success too?

(once again, I enjoyed the prequels for the most part, maybe excluding Jar Jar, and the terrible performances of Anakin.)

I don't think Disney has ruined the Star Wars franchise at all. Certainly, the series won't be the same as it once was but definitely not ruined. Also, I actually enjoyed the prequels Smiley Surprised

thats why i said NEARLY a flop.

2013 was a horrible year for movies. most of which wound up doing better overseas than demestic. the movie failed to reach all projections, even with the increase income from IMAX and 3D ticket sales.

also, thats just the movie budget. theres a lot more money involved thats not listed, mainly the cash they spent on PR, and the PR for the movie overseas was pretty heavy. wouldnt be surprised if the total cost of the film was $200-$210million

I was always under the assumtion that the budget of a films included ads and PR.

And a 250% profit margin is hardly a flop.
