Integrity test

If you are working or on your way to work, or just out and about. And, you find a stack of cash from $1000 to $5000 stuff in a envelope, left behind. What would you do??

Keep in mind, the envelope, doesn't have no address or any identifcation on it.

Let's see how many honest people are out there and see who does the right thing.

I would take it put it in my pocket and get out of that area fast first. If i was on my way to work i would call in sick and go get something to eat.. then i would go home and head to the mall and buy a new newera hat and ray ban sun glasses. then i would come back and and put something in the air of course... if i found $5000 i would give a 1000 to my mom.

then i would buy a cheap car since i dont have one

what is the "right thing" to do?

Hahah your answer doesn't surprise me HitmAN90.

What if you lost that much cash? How would you feel, if no one turned it in to the proper authorities ? Even though, the cash doesn't have identication, you know it belongs to someone. Could belong to your family. How would you feel about that?

If i lost 5000 dollars i would NOT expect to get it back. i would be surprised if i got it back actually.

Also i dont think turning it to the police would get it back to the owner... how would i know if the owner reported the loss? maybe the police would just keep it for themselves. that would make me MAD!!!Smiley Mad

thats just too bad people shouldnt be losing that much monay. even if it was my families then i would feel weird giving a 1000 to my mom.

so how would i feel? i would feel super happy about the 5000 that i found and would not care about the person who lost it!
cold blooded

Okay, if the police kept the money. Some people would eventually be fired. You know, someone will call about it. And, police have to log the items in. And, if it went missing. We all know what would happen.

You'd be surprise on how many honest people are out there. We used to do, these things at work all the time. It was 50/50 with the employees. One needed money so bad, that he went to lunch but was fired when he came back. It wasn't his and the employee knew better.

If I kept that money, it would feel right. Someone would be heart broken. Really needed it. Accidents do happen and people make mistakes. Even though, I turned the money. I wouldn't expect a reward at all. And, wouldn't care if it made the news or not.

Uhhhh where exactly did I find it? On the floor walking from my house to my car? In my workplace?

If it's somewhere where I can somewhat identify the person who dropped it I'll probably try to turn it in. If I don't think it's possible to find the owner, I'll continue on with my day and keep the money. $1000-$5000 is a lot, but it isn't life changing.

My general rule of thumb: If there is some organization to lost money (money clip, rubber band, wallet, envelope, etc) then I want to give it back. Otherwise, it's all mine.

I would go and try to find the original owner of the envelope or turn it to the local lost and found office building until the owner has the time to know where it is and retrieve it.

It's better to do the right thing than use the envelope for selfish purposes.

Let's say if you were on a bus. And, you found $5000 and it was in ATM envelope.

Work place, anywhere like your cash register or on the floor as you were cleaing or just walking by it.
