Installing AIM on Mac OSX Version 10.4.8

17 replies 25 views Edited Nov 14, 2006
So, I recently got a new macbook pro and I need help installing AIM on my Mac.  When I go to AIM.com, I click download AIM and it downloaded aim.bin to my computer.  When I click on it, it opens up microsoft excel and says "The operation could not be completed.  An unexpected error occured (error code- 10660)"  Any help would be appreciated.

Well, I dunno how to install AIM but you can probably use Trillian, which supports AIM.

Plus, there's like AIM for PSP online which you can access with a computer, right?

Well, I would rather use an AIM program because sometimes, the servers are full and I can't log on.

Mmm. Try Trillian. It's made by Google. Not sure if they support OS X, but it's worth a shot.

Maybe you're thinking of GoogleTalk?  Trillian is made by Cerulean.

Google distributes it somewhere...maybe it was their old Google "Pack"? I dunno. They've changed it since.
