I own a Vizio 42" and the sound you heard is most likely from the screw not lined up and like you mentioned already it popped in line. The worst that may of happened is it cracked while you attacthed the two together, i wouldnt worry.

It wasn't super loud but I definitely heard over my mom and brother talking right beside me while I was doing it. What Zeelot said makes the most sense and I'm gonna go with that. It's really the only explanation. Thanks for the input!

Did it happen to you as well? I put the screw on the screwdriver and put it in its place and as I started turning with minimal amounts of pressure is when it happened. I just wasn't thinking that the screw may not have been lined up and the pressure I was using put it into place and made the noise. That does make a lot of sense.
