How to use comcast dvr to record?

2 replies 270 views Edited Feb 4, 2012

My COMCAST DVR supports hdmi, and has component input on it. Is there a way for me to record my ps3 with it?

If you have a DVR (digital video recorder) then you are set. You can't record in HD, unless your DVR supports that

Okay here is what you do:

1) Plug the component cables (yellow, white, red) that go from the PS3 into the back of the DVR, where it says IN

2) Put a blank disc in the DVR, or if you have a DVR with a hard drive, go to step 3

3) Turn on the PS3, and play like you normally would

4) Press the "record" button and start recording what you want to record

5) Make sure you can view the PS3's output image from the DVR, if not you are doing something wrong

Moved on over to our off-topic area.

Are you looking to capture in-game footage for streaming video through your PS3?
