Yes but walking helps. I'm not going to say it again.
Even if you are 20 pounds over, it doesn't matter. If you haven't worked out. You will hurt yourself by jumping right into it. You don't need to kill yourself in loosing weight. You could nothing but walk and just watch what you eat. You will loose weight. But, you do whatever.
But go do what you feel like.
Again: true. I've just been walking and watching what I eat and I have lost weight-- yes a bit slow, but it works.
