Well I can't figure out why I'm lagging every single online game of Madden. It makes kicking and switching to wide receivers and defenders while the ball is in the air to make a play practically impossible. Lag is not a good thing in a game where split seconds are everything. Just wish I could determine whether it's just me. Surely more people would be complaining if it's like this for everyone. I get about 4-5 mbps download speed. My connection is around 90% most the time. Can't figure this out...

Madden has garbage servers. I lag on there too when I play online but every other game I play online is fine. I have a nice fast fiber connection as you can see in my sig.

My results for my wireless connection on my laptop are 5210 kb/s download and 1835 kb/s upload. My ping is 39 ms (but fluctuates up to 110ms). I haven't yet checked the speed on the ps3, but suspect the results will be a bit slower. I'll check it in a couple hours when I get home. I lag every single online game of Madden 08.

I upgraded just today from Verizon FIOS (5 mbps download / 2 mbps upload) to (10 mbps download / 2 mbps upload). Hopefully that will fix the lag. Not sure when the change will go into affect but should be soon I hope. I'll post whether it helps. My friend has 10mbps and plays about 95% of his games on Madden 08 smoothly (with an occassional lag, very infrequent and most likely due to the person he is playing). Keeping my fingers crossed...

totally off the subject, just wanted to say how awesome it is you quoted Roland. The Dark Tower was his best work aside from IT. He cut it short by a couple books too. Too bad. I didn't want to end my stay in Rolands world so soon.

I jus got comcast 20mbps plan for the internet to play cod mw3 on my ps3 without lagging or being kicked out of the psn network....does anyone think that 20mbp is enough not to be kicked out of the psn network or to be lagging in mw3 online....?

you do realize that you just replied to a 5 year old thread right?

and to the last comment, that is plenty enough speed..2mb/s is plenty of speed for online gaming if you have low latency..
