Now before I say anything, I would like to announce that I am not an Xbox 360 fanboy. Thank you.

I just went to Best Buy, and I got to play the 60 GB PS3!!! It was pretty good, but I still prefer the Xbox 360. Can anyone answer this question? I first arrived at Best Buy around 5:00 AM, and their only PS3 was overheated. Their Xbox 360 however, was as cool as ice. They were both in the same size display case, and they were far away enough from each other that their radiant heat did not have an appreciable effect. So why was the PS3 unusable for 7 hours due to overheating while the Xbox 360 worked the whole time? I even took pictures to prove that they were in the same sized display case. On a side note, I got to play Motorstorm on the PS3, and the graphics of the vehicles were awesome, but the backgrounds looked somewhat PS2-ish. I then immediately played the Xbox 360, and all of the graphics on the screen looked next-gen. I just want an answer to my question, but I don't want to start a flame war. Please answer politely.

Apperently, the PS3 showcasing are not accual PS3's and rather just a plastic box, I dunno in this case. The PS3 is more powerful, has 9 processor, and so forth, so it probably excrites more heat.

The PS3 has the brick built in so logically if it doesn't get any air it will do that. The 360 has it on the cord so it's different. I think that the PS3 games are right where they should be since it's at launch.

Thanks for a non-flaming answer! But everything was contained in the same sized display case, so wouldn't the results still be the same?

No... more heat output in a confined space would cause it to overheat for sure. With the 360 they probably have the brick ontop of the case seperate.

Every console has problems at the start of it's life. I remember back when the 360 lauched it had overheating problems too.
Chuf it out.
