hmm is it beating these specs? – FREE Upgrade to Genuine Windows XP Media Center!!
2– Mobile AMD Sempron(TM) 3500+ (1.80GHz/512KB)
1– FREE Upgrade to 15.4" WXGA BrightView Widescreen!
3– NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 6150 w/Productivity Ports
4– HP Imprint Finish + Microphone + Webcam
5– 1024MB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
– FREE Upgrade from 60GB 5400RPM to 80GB 5400RPM
– FREE Upgrade: 8X DVD+/-R/RW w/Double Layer Support
– 802.11b/g WLAN
– 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
– HP Mobile Remote Control

1. 15.4 WXGA is the normal screen besides brightview, i guess.
2. That's better then the HP.
3. That Too.
4. Thats a nice deal.
5. You can't beat 1GB of RAM from 512MB!
Your deal that you just concluded with Sempron is alot better, but the one i mentioned was a cheap one for black friday.

The model you're looking direct from HP is much better than anything you'd get on Black Friday. The speed difference between the Core Solo and Sempron is up for argument. But you're getting a better intergrated GPU (GeForce vs. GMA 950), and you'll be getting the BrightView widescreen. The BrightView screens are saweet. Plus HP Quickplay is pretty cool.

Just don't forget to spend the extra $20 to get the Recovery DVDs! And definitely pick Media Center Edition so you get the free upgrade to Vista Home Premium too.
