Help choosing a laptop.

43 replies 2 views Edited Nov 16, 2006
ok here's the problem. i'm looking at the hp pavillion dv6000 series. it comes in two models. one is amd based and the other is intel based. if i get the amd which has a Mobile AMD Sempron(TM) 3500+ (1.80GHz/512KB) processor, i'll be able to get an 80 gb harddrive, a better monitor, and windows media center edition. if i get the one with the Intel(R) Core(TM) Solo processor T1350 (1.86 GHz) i'll be getting windows xp home edition, a 60 gb harddrive, and a mediocre screen. am i better off with the slower processor with better features?

You should wait a few months for Vista to be released.....so you can get a laptop with Vista already loaded on it, and not have to pay for an upgrade later.

i get a free vista upgrade when it comes out so that's not an issue. matter of fact, if i get the amd, i'll get windows vista home premium or somethin like that. if i get the intel i'll get the windows vista home basic. i think the amd is sounding better right now...

thats the laptop
its going to cost 270 at best buy on black friday
if you want it, go to best buy at 9pm or so on thurssday and camp out until it opens, if best buy gives you a ticket for the laptop then youll be able to get it.
