What's better for playing a PS3? An Plasma or HDTV? Or do they both look the same?

Most plasma are a type of HDTV, I would go LCD since most of you guys wouldn't break in the plasma.

So if I bought a plasma, would it look just as good as an HDTV?

You do know that HDTV comes in many type? DLP, Plasma and LCD, etc. Plasma is a type of HDTV where it uses gas in the back to form a picture but since most people here don't know how to "break in" a plasma correctly I don't suggest you use it.

Sorry, I am not an TV expert, but what is "brea in"?

And I wnat a Plasma because I there are some cheap 42 inch ones($999) and LCDs are hard to find that are 40+ inches and cheap enough for me.

Break in is a term to allow the Tv to adjust to the condition for the first month and not doing anything intensive where it can leave a burn in.

God damnit, all this HDTV/Plasma stuff is too uch for my non-technology-oriented brain >

I don't know, I have a 42 inch SDTV in my room, and it'd just feel werid having a smaller Tv in my room. But I guess I could settle for a 32 inch, since Im going to be moving to another room. thanks for your help.
