Getting into Boxing-Glove Suggestions

11 replies 99 views Edited Dec 31, 2013
Hello all, I'm going to start boxing with a few of my friends and will eventually join tw boxing club at my university. I will be needing some boxing gloves and was wondering if there are any boxers in here.

I'm in need of some gloves that aren't expensive ($50 or less preferably) and have good quality for the price. I'm 5'7" and 145lbs. Along with the glove recommendation, what weight (of the glove) would you recommend for me?

I bought some years ago that were called Everlast. They weren't heavy just felt kinda lightweight.

"Grant"  8oz to 10 oz.. boxing glove  comes in differ style for differ things to train your punching. So  going to need more than one pair. like bag glove and sparring gloves are very different which lead to pro glove an  gloves being very different as well.. I recommend grant becuase of the padding in the front to stop alot of bruising the other gloves dont have right now, which good for beginner. Depends on what you like.  Alot  people like reyes gloves or rival brand..

You dont have to buy gloves just look around for  a old boxing  gym,  they might give you a par.  Boxing gloves are pricey, so try  targt and  save till you enought for some Grants..  they are 60-75$ but worth it.

A good pair of Everlast is a way to start. Some boxing mitts are also helpful if you have someone to train with.

Might I ask what your knowledge of anything besides annoying youtube videos and how to make repeat threads are??

Care to box?

What are your fighting styles?

Press limit?

W/L streak?

Ring size?

Can you answer this without googles help or are you just going to reply... lol*insert picture that has no relevant meaning to the thread*... lol... chubby lol
