Gaming Is Not The Same?

17 replies 46 views Edited Jun 7, 2011

Remember*:

*when you went over to your friends house and played video games all day?

*those times when you would play a game all day just to beat it?

*when whoever had the latest game was the coolest kid on the block?

*when we didn't care about Game Reviews and just played them for the fun of it?

*when we didn't rage about Video Games when we died/lost?

What happened to those times?

Now games are build based on hype/reviews/graphics.

What happened to those days of our childhood?

Does gaming feel the same to you guys?

It certainly does not feel the same to me.

I don't get that "feeling" when I beat a boss anymore, It's just like whatever, Next level please.

Do you still get that "feeling" anymore? & Is gaming moving in a positive or negative direction?

disagree

*still do first one. Drinking and betting on tigars wood golf with buddys

*back in the day you couldn't beat a game in 1 day.

*-.- isn't it still like that?

*Review is corck 90 percent of the time. everyone likes differnet things. some journalism major might not like what i do

*always raged, never sissy raged but always raged. It's the game

Lifes good.

Go for platinums, trust me after that you wont be thinking "next level please"

Also on a side note, I still take all day to beat a game I rented that morning.

Gaming has changed a lot, but I still enjoy it just as much as I did back then. Kind of, anyway. I do agree that the last gen of consoles was much better...

Yeah. They're called losers now if you don't get out and get a girlfriend. Times were simple back with my Sega Genesis and everyone would come and play. Now everyone has high expectations on what a game should or should not be.

Considering I have over 20 years worth of gaming under my belt...I can say that you have rose tinted glasses on.

I remember having to get a new intellevision because my dad and brothers threw the controllers around.  I remember beating a game in a day was viewed as a waste of money.  I remember Atari 2600 ET reviews initiated the great game crash of '83.  I remember complaining that I had to walk to my friend's house. to play (or in most cases watch him play) the latest game.

I'm not sure what you are talking about but I remember things much differently than you and recall how gamers really haven't changed much.

Well one thin remains the same for me, when I’m playing, I do it for hours .

I remember playing with the Atari 2600 too it was my brother’s and looking at the graphics back then,  games are gone a lot better.

someone is letting nastalgia cloud their mind. Its the same you're the issue. I still have friends over time to time for epic Gt5 runs or NHL tourney's, with some beer, and other substances .

Its your fault for letting reviews mean much of anything. Most gamers dont even check gaming sites. come on bro.
