Well, we all have our own personal opinions about what is the "Game of This Generation". But I will let the market decide what is the "Game of This Generation" based on sales figures.

According to Wikipedia the best selling PS3 game was Gran Turismo 5 (9.19 million) copies sold.

Best selling 360 game was Call of Duty: Black Ops (13.93 million) copies sold.

Best selling Wii game was Wii Sports (81.64 million) copies sold.

So according to sales figures, the "Game of This Generation" is Wii Sports. The market has spoken.

because every wii came with wii sports. Therefore, 81.64 million wiis were sold.

Batman Arkham City is definitely up there IMO.

Then again, there's also the Uncharted series which is a fantastic action series.

And Portal 2, amazing from start to finish with a great co-op campaign.

Dishonored is another game I'd nominate, I could replay it endlessly and always have a different experience.

And a bunch of others... I guess I can't decide.

Re: Game of the Generation

I kinda sucked a bit with games since I was little and mainly played Wrestling/movie tie in games, but as I made friends they kept talking about Metal Gear Solid 4 and stuff, I was interested so I played Portable Ops on the PSP since I didn't have a PS3 at the time, it changed me and made me apprciate gaming like no other, I was like (Holy **bleep**, I gotta play more of these!) so that's what I did and it opened the door to other games.

So basically, my favorite game from the generation (well not really this generation, remember still late to the party) is The Metal Gear Solid Franchise Smiley Very Happy

If you are talking about all consoles, and multi platform games. I would say Burnout Paradise. This one brought a whole new level to sandbox games where you didn't just have the original idea of a typical racing game, but turn the racing game into an incredible sandbox platform. Honestly, I think Burnout paradise is the best sandbox game to date for this generation alone. I don't thik there is any other kind of racing game out there where you can actually sit yourself on top of buildings and still not be a part of a race or practice or time trial runs.

A lot of people who have played Burnout Paradise will have great memories of the game for countless years to come. I kind of half miss playing the game after having sold my PS3 a year and a half ago. In all honesty, I didn't think Gran Turismo 5 quite measured up to Burnout Paradise in Fun factor. And Gran Turismo 5 was just not as fun as its previous sequel Gran Turismo 4; and was just boring and repetitive.

Skyward Sword was the only reason to have a Wii. Winner for me.

For PS3? Probably Arkham City for me, not necessarily for the whole community, whole community seems to be in love with Uncharted.
