So I'm sitting here waiting on a 2gb game update to download and I'm really wondering..
Why has Sony not utilized torrent technology to maintain game updates and distribute them to its customers?
It would be really simple to implement and provide the customers with a better experience plus lessen the server load on update downloads by sharing some of the bandwidth burden with customers.
I can't speak for everyone, but I really wouldn't mind sharing some of my bandwidth if it meant I could download updates in 30 seconds.
You have all these millions of devices connected to broadband connections why not use them?
The user experience would be no different (if implemented properly) with the exception of super fast updates.
