This is why you never let people borrow stuff. I don't care how good of a friend they are, people don't care. They didn't pay for it. They don't care. It can get broken, lost, whatever, and they can give you the usual, "Oh good golly gosh, I'm soooo sorry about this happening." they could honestly care less. IT'S NOT THEIRS! This is why I never ever lend stuff to people.

I think the best thing to do, depending on both your ages, is to talk to his parents about it. Explain the situation and maybe they'll help.
