Egg Capsule

7 replies 2 views Edited Apr 7, 2007
I have to build this stupid egg capsule for school. It has to be that when an egg is inside and dropped from various heights, it will not break. I need some ideas on what to construct. I can't use packing materials either.

Put it in your 360 Smiley Tongue

Mythbuster did it before, and they put it inside a melon I think, or was it something else?

I did this a while ago, take a toilet paper roll, fully stocked with toilet paper, put the egg inside the little cardboard thing, it should fit snuggly, then duct tape the holes shut and cover the outside.
P.S. This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.

I did something like this in 5th grade. I used a Dishwashing Towel, a Trash Bag and some string.

How you do it.

Fold the Towel in half and wrap it around the egg and tape it together.

Cut the trashbag into a large (1.5 - 2' across) circle and make little slits (.5" Long) about 1-2" from the edge and put tape over the slits and re-puncher them.

use the string to attach the Parachute to the Egg/Towel.

Boom you're done.

I dropped mine from a 3 story window and it survived
