In the unlikely event that a massive 4.5 billion year old, 5.97219 x 10^24kg, rock that just so happened to be floating through an unimaginably vast and equally space was to suddenly be destroyed wouldn't the life that appeared by chance disappear as well? It's a moot point.
In theory yes, but in a chance no we could have figured out how to survive by then or some other crazy way to live

I think what Nova is trying to say is that it's NOT up for debate. I think that would make it a "mute point".
