^^^ Pretty much that. They went overkill on certain aspects/traits of the characters, making them intolerable/overly annoying for me to the point where I hate them. Brian and Stewie were the last decent ones but they dragged them down too with the political/gay angles respectively. I actually can't tell you when Stewie being gay became his thing over trying to kill Louis and they're just shy of Spongebob with him although that character I used to enjoy does shine through now and again.

But everyone else is just downright horrible, especially Peter.

Ok it was a pretty sad episode. I don't see why people don't like vinny. He's alright. Don't like his design though

To me, he's going to take some getting use to.

I didn't watch the episode, but I heard about it. I haven't been into Family Guy in years though, it's not a show I really care for too much. I prefer American Dad over it anyways.

Calm down kids.... Brian will be back on the show. Maybe not next episode, or the next, but Stewie will bring him back in a later episode by rebuilding the time machine.

This.  OK so he can't get the capacitor he needs.  But in the future such capacitors ought to be commonplace.  Or let's say he's minding his own business and a Stewie from the past appears from back when the time machine was operational.

By then it ought to be a tear-jerking episode based on whether Stewie saves Brian or Vinny.  Remember Vinny was in the fog pound on death row.  So if Stewie saves Brian, there would be no need to rescue Vinny from the pound.  Also expect by then that the audience has had time to develop more of an emotional bond with Vinny.

Who dies, Stewie?

This is family guy, and we have seen numerous deaths that later on were retconned. Examples:

Meg was killed dozens of times. Such as the episode Chris ran away to live in that village, she was killed when the villagers threw arrows into her head.

James woods was killed one (Maybe twice?) and returned later.
