the coordinates of the vertex of the graph of y = 2xsquared - 4x +1 are??? and its multiple choice so here are the answers (1, -1) (1,1) (-1,5) (2,1)

The graphs of the equation y = xsquared and x= -3 will intersect in???

1 point 2 points 3 points or 0 points?

To find the vertex of a parabola, you do -b/2a for the x coordinate, and then plug the number you get back into the equation and solve for y.

You don't even need to do any number crunching for the second one. Think about what y=x^2 is and what x = -3 is. y=x^2 is a function, which means it passes the vertical line test. x=-3 is a vertical line, so at most it can intersect the parabola once. Parabolas also have a domain of all real numbers, so x=-3 will intersect the parabola once.
