Civilization V Game Nights!

Civ V

Welcome to the OT Civ V game night! I hope we can gather at least 6 players to play Civilization V on a semi-regular basis. Civ is a game that was just meant to be played with humans instead of AI. Conquest and destruction simply do not work correctly without man at the helm, so what better way to experience the game than with fellow community members?

The plan for this night is still very rough. People interested must give their available hours since Civ is a very lengthy game and would probably require a couple hours per game night (and longer for some nights would be even better!).

A major question that comes up is about what DLC we would use. The plan is to have mutliple games going on at once. Probably one game with Gods and Kings and one game with Brave New World (depends on the percentage of users with both expansions).

I am unsure about how many have the game on here considering this is a Steam game, but I have found it to be relativley easy on the computer. And we would be using standard map size (maybe one size below that) and standard length. This allows for a much less CPU-taxing experience.

So...who is interested?

I'm still running vanilla Civ V. And, I am sure none of you would want to play with a filthy casual.

Just do the upgrade to Gold Edition! It is cheaper than getting the expansion and it gets you that plus a lot more DLC.

I've yet to try a Civiliation game, all I've ever played was Age of Empires...if I had a capable PC I'd probably buy Civ.

Good luck. I don't have that game or I'd be in.

The game is from 2010 and is turn-based; putting less stress on the CPU. My new laptop was $400 and can run Civ on Medium and with a big map.

Not free, but not expensive either.

It is $30 on Steam, but wait until the Winter sale and it will be REALLY cheap. Last year, I got it for $7 plus the expansion for $5
