You guys forget it all depends on the TV and the "NATIVE" resolution of said TV.

So, would a 720 32" Bravia S-series be much less worse of a TV then the 40" V-series?
That way, I could spend a grand less. What do you's guys think?

since 1080p is twice the resolution of 720p I'd have to say yes, there is a big difference, you just wont notice it until you put the 1080p tv right next to the 720p one.

If you ever see them side by side you can tell the difference.

That depends, I have done a side to side view of 720p and 1080p on a 40" tv and I notice minor difference but my friends couldn't tell a difference. It's your ability to distinguish the difference or look at certain parts. Most enthuaist will tell you that 1080p is only good on a 80"+ tv.

Switch your monitor to 800x600 .... now, let's go about 1.5 times that size, and switch your monitor to 1280x960.

Now look at the 720p television. Then switch it up 1.5 times that size, which is 1080p.

If you could tell the difference between the computer running at 800x600, versus the computer running at 1280x960, there's a good chance that you'll be able to tell the difference between a tv running a game at 720p versus 1080p.
