Building a computer

Is this a good video card?

Also, do I NEED to use the i7, or will I be fine with an i5?

I'm pretty sure that's a decent GPU. I am not a computer expert btw. You should go to Tom's hardware (http://www.tomshardware.com/) because there are many people there who will answer your questions and are very knowledgable about them.

You probably already know but make sure everything is compatible. I cannot emphasize this enough. Good luck and have fun! Smiley Very Happy

Yes it's a good video card but, go with AMD they are cheaper than Intel & Nvidia. Also that Mantle API is looking promising making games run more efficient compared to Direct3D & OpenGL.

My gaming history - NES, PS1, PS2, GBA SP, NDS, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One

I agree that you can get an AMD one that is better for the same money or the same for less money.

There is a new store that open up near me and when I get rid of my notebook they are going to build one for me. I want a powerful video card and a good power supply to run it . I am going to make it way over 512. And a good sound card as well. I want a good mother board as well..

You will be fine with an i5.  No need to waste extra money on an i7.

As for video card, whats your target in regards to money?
