ha my comp beats you I have a 10 second time to get from the secon I press the button till I get to me working and I beat my dads comp with an Intel centrino duo 1gb of ram the clock for the processor is 2.1 Ghz I am running an Intel Celeron D clocked at 3.2 ghz with 512 mb of ram celeron blasted the dual core out of the water with speed

about 1 min, but i got alot of stuff on it.  it used to boot up in 25 seconds, but then i got internet.

Wow that makes absolutely no sense at all. Please rephrase that in English.
 
I also think this post confirms that a lot of people here are confusing the time it takes the computer to come out of sleep or hibernate and not true booting. Because the POST process itself in most computers takes 10-13 seconds itself.

Does the floppy drive really affect how fast a PC loads?  I have one but very rarely use it.  I wonder if I disable it I'll see a difference.


Just when its loading BIOS...I could disable it but I've been lazy to. It probably adds 1.5 seconds of the time.
