SHOULDN'T be and if there is it wouldn't be allowed to be talked about here...being that would be illegal and all.  Honestly, never heard of it.  You'd have to be on top of everything, HAVE a Blue-ray burner in your system and have some uber program that cracks the Blue-ray coding.......the net result is it isn't WORTH the trouble.  The expense doesn't justify it.

Its not illegal, if you already own the movie and just want to back it up, thats perfectly legal.  Now if he wanted to sell it or give it to a friend, that would be illegal.

Accualy, it is illegal. Although hackers have figured out how to put the videos on the PS3 via linux, it is illegal. The "supposidly" uncrackable system for the HD-DVDs was also cracked within a week...also illegal.

Yea I read wrong, to back it up on his PS3 would be illegal, but just to make another disc for his own personal use to use as a backup copy is perfectly legal...assuming he bought the Blu-Ray movie legitimately.

considering the size of a blu-ray movie, and the size of the ps3 hard drives, and even the maximum size of the hard drives you can get for the ps3, I'd say that would be a very big waste of space.

You don't get much of an EULA when you get a BD movie, or at least I didn't with Terminator 2 or 1...

they either just say "no copying" or "unauthorized public broadcast or copying is prohibited"
