Was looking at getting a vita on black friday myself, then I made the mistake of renting gta v. Now I am thinking about getting the ps3 gta v bundle (borrowing a friends ps3 right now) instead of getting the vita, decisions decisions.

Don't get trampled at Best Buy, they hand out tickets for the limited sale items (the ones where they will only have 10) and start with the 1st peron in line, and keep going back till the tickets are gone. So no need to rush in and try to grab what you wanted, have a friend that is always in one of the first 10 spots. If BB has something I want I will just give him the money and pick it up later in the day.

Hey I'm not from the US so I have a question, does Black Friday Sales appear on websites like Amazon? Or are they exclusives to physical retail stores?

Usually Black Friday is in store only. Cyber monday would be when deals on Amazon take place...

Uh, didn't even knew such a thing existed lol. Thanks for the reply mate Smiley Happy

We Americans like to wait to go holiday shopping, well most anyways. The day after thanksgiving, is the traditional start to the holiday present buying season. So retail store use the day to advertise great deals to get their store in your mind to do all your shopping. So they discount a big item or a hot toy in hopes you spend all of your holiday money there. Lately it seems to be a few people who use it to buy something for themselves, which is good and all, but it seems ot have taken that relaxed and casual spirit out of the day.

They call it black friday as in the days of yore, bookkeepers used red and black ink to signafy profit and loss. Black meant you were making money, and red a loss. Well you can imagine, a large population shopping can lead to massive profits. So hence black, as it's typically when retailers start to earn their profit for the year. I recall reading that 50+% of profits for the year come from the holiday season.
