Na my hacked Xbox runs Xbox Media Center that plays all video file types and in HD, and I can stream stuff over the network or store it on its 320gig harddrive. Apple TV is over priced POS right now.

It's a nice little product. It's in desperate need of more storage space, but I can definitely see it becoming popular at some point in the future. It might (most likely) will not become an iPod in terms of popularity, but I can't see it failing the way the Cube did. It's a simple way of getting iTunes content to your TV. The thing that will hold it back the most is not the lack of storage space... but the lack of S-Video and Composite outputs. So it'll be a nice niche product until HDTVs or EDTVs are in more than 17% of US homes. It'd make a great movie jukebox.

For more advanced users, a Mac mini with a large hard drive would make a better solution. I see myself doing that before an Apple TV.

I forgot to add that it'll probably pick up and take over the Windows Media Center market. Why? Because unlike Media Center, it plays internationally recognized standards. And it plays peoples iTunes content. Thats a huge shortcoming in MCE and one of the main reasons I never used MC when I had my MCE PC.

The only thing you need storage space for is Photos and Videos otherwise, it streams music

Same here my 360+ Vista Ultimate Media Center works just fine for me.

I got WIndows XP + a program called Orb that allows me to play Avi video files on my 360 It also does everything that Media Share does on WMP 11.

Would you happen to have a link to this program?
