Another challenge for you (i cant even get this one)

33 replies 1 views Edited Dec 5, 2006
its a riddel i have yet to get so here it is

3 men go into a motel. The man behind the desk said the room is $30. So each man paid $10 and went into the room. A while later the man behind the desk realized the room was only $25. So he sent the bellboy to the 3 guys' room with $5, on the way the bellboy couldent figure out how to split $5 evenly between 3 men so he gave each man a $1 and kept the other $2 for himself. This meant that each man paid $9 for the room, which is a total of $27, add the $2 that the bellboy keep = $29 so were is the other dollar?

my friends math teacher gave the class this riddel as extra creadit
and he is a collage professer in math and took him 3 days to get it
so i dont think anyone on here will get it
but try my friends try

simple the two dollars is included in the 27 dollars
9 x 3 = 25 for the room and 2 dollar tip = 27 dollars

He  dropped it. Or there was tax. Or the man at the desk kept it.

ur joking right?  they paid 10 dollars each.  then got one back, so they really only paid 9 dollars each.   9 dollars x 3 people = 27 dollars = 25 (cost of room) + 2 (tip)

the whole riddle is based on the word usage, think before you speak
