I have a PS3 and an Xbox 360, and a hidef tv, but I simply am not hyped for either.  DVD's look great to me.  And I don't see either one taking over DVD anytime soon.  The average person is not gonna fork over all the money to properly view either one.  Hell people like my mom just bought a dvd player last year.  I think DVD will continue to smash both into the ground.

The 360 HDDVD addon was 99 bucks at game Play in Cali last week.

It will take the same amount of time for Blu-Ray and/or HD-DVD players to take over DVD players as it did for DVD players to take over VHS.

Eventually we will all have to upgrade, because they will stop making movies for DVDs

They only stopped making VHS versions of movies when DVD'd starting outselling them on average.  They aren't going to simply stop making DVD movies to force people to upgrade.  All the real money that alot of movies make these days is in the DVD release.  If one of the new formats attains mass market appeal and starts eating heavily into DVD sales, then we'll get on that slow process.  Not a moment before.
