Password protection removed

11 replies 137 views Edited Apr 16, 2010

We removed the password protection dialog box this evening.

The forums can now be accessed by anyone, although the URL has not yet been announced and it will not yet be on the top level navigation bar.

Feel free to invite your friends so we can start growing the community on here -- I just ask that you don't post the URL yet on other forums, Twitter, Facebook, etc.

I'll be telling more folks tomorrow and we'll launch the forums next week with an announcement so everybody can join the party.

I'm also betting on people stumbling onto the forums because they'll be typing in URLs to try to find it.

Ditto for me.

Not a problem, necessarily, just more of an inconvenience than anything else.

It happens to me too. I'll be getting folks to take a look at this on Monday.

I noticed that you linked to the Naughty Dog forums from the blog. Since you've already soft-launched the forums, is it okay to link to it beyond our immediate friends?

Absolutely. We're still in the soft-launch period -- meaning there will still be an announcement and a main navigation link that will go up this week.  But it's essentially public now!
