Is it really faster?(Grizzly)

I'm talking about after you go over the humongous jump through the valley. The question is which way is faster:1.To jump over that giant rock or to go the regular way through the shortcut. I know that I'm being very vague hear but you seasoned vets know what I'm talking about. My answer is it that I think it is too risky to jump over the giant rock and then go through the shortcut at such dangerous speeds. I think this because I had 2 runs on Grizzly and I took the less risky way. If you can run absolutely perfect it won't matter. In both of those runs I ran great times. One of them being a 4:00:89. That is only one second slower than KCALB's 3:59 run through the other way. In my opinion there are just too many variables to risk going the other way. If you don't believe I ran that time you can ask Tomt for clarification as he was in the room.

Re: Is it really faster?(Grizzly)

I think it is faster to go over the rocks, but it is personal preference. I can't keep up my speed if I don't go over the rocks but thats just me. People usually slow me down by getting in the way when they go the 'safe' way.

I sometimes fly right over those people though...

The jury is still out on that 1 but I believe if you can nail the fastest way , then there is your answer . I hear euro boys are running 3:55's . I can't touch it .

Hey just0325 what kind of time did you do on Grizzly in time trials?

Re: Is it really faster?(Grizzly)

My fastest time trial on Grizzly is 1:24:xx flying through the shortcut.  It is definately faster but with the added risk I don't think it is worth it during racing.  If someone takes the "normal" route then you end up slamming into their car at full speed - not good - and there are to many little branches/rocks in there that if you don't hit it perfect it will end up costing you time anyway.

Re: Is it really faster?(Grizzly)

Well I haven't done it in ages for Grizzly. I used to be 93rd but that was a long long time ago. I may go back and do it tomorrow. I really wish I could race Cirrus and all the other Euro racers though.
