It's still a series synonymous with the Playstation brand. And legit, MGS on Gameboy Color?

Essentially this.  People identify the franchise with PS.  And Ghost Babel was an AU that takes up after Metal Gear like Metal Gear Solid did.

I guess it would be perfectly fine for people to identify the Dragon Quest series with Nintendo, then.

Yeah.  Nintendo seems to have the series on lockdown now which sucks for some of us who enjoyed DQVIII on PS2 =\

The "Solid" series of Metal Gear did not start until PlayStation. So three of the Metal Gear games you posted aren't even relevant, including Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. Metal Gear Solid was released on PlayStation in September of 98. A Dreamcast version of the game was planned, but never released. After receiving extensive praise, it was ported to the pc September of 2000, exactly 2 years later. MGS2 debuted on PlayStation in November of 01. One year later, after extensive praise once again, an expanded Metal Gear was planned and released on Xbox. With a PlayStation release of the same version a month later. So you see, MGS is a PlayStation brand with many ports. The only exception in The Twin Snakes, which was a remake of Solid, and developed by Silicon Knights. It wasn't made by Kojima, with the exception of the use of the MGS2 engine. And you should be very careful how you use the word "misinformation" from now on.

Not true.  I mentioned above the timeline of the series.  Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2 fall into the 'Solid' timeline and are canon.  Metal Gear Solid 3, Portable Ops and Peace Walker are prequels to Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2 with Metal Gear Solid 2 & 4 being sequels to those titles.  The only 'Metal Gear 2' that isn't relevant is Metal Gear 2: Snake's Revenge which was done by Konami themselves and without Kojima's consent/knowledge (it forced it to make Solid Snake, a true sequel to MG).

MGS is to playstation as COD is to xbox. Everything else is just a port.

Every single Call of Duty has been available on PlayStation, so the comparison is not mutual.

Call of Duty 2 was an Xbox 360 launch title, and NOT on Playstation. Check mate.

All right children, today we will be learning a new word, and that word is... sy-no-nym-ous

Synonymous:

1: having the character of a synonym; also : alike in meaning or significance
2: having the same connotations, implications, or reference <to runners, Boston is synonymous with marathon

When one person, who readily admits they don't have much knowledge of Playstation franchises, says MGS is exclusive to PS, followed by a community full of people correcting him... what was the point this topic?
MGS found it's success and fame on PS1, and ported the rest of it's games to other consoles, therefore it's synonymous with PS. Just like Splinter Cell is synonymous with Xbox.
Please skip  your next pointless topic.

If Big Daddy can make it in, I'm pretty sure Solid Snake can.

Not if Konami wants to promote Metal Gear Rising instead.
