Re: Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes - FOX Engine, Open World

The gameplay sounds like it can be fun, I just hope they don't do the PW thing and have all the grinding.

Storywise, still early I suppose. The PW stuff doesn't bode well with me though.

The child in a cage could point to Big Boss' being more like Mad Big Boss from MG1/2 and using child soldiers. Could be anything though I suppose. :smileymad:

Most interested in all the exploring and tinkering with an open world setting under the MGS title. That is just going to

be nutz knowing all of the fun stuff you could do in the more closed previous games. *_*

I'm sure the general public will be getting this demo come TGS. Internetz should explode then. Hahah.

Crazy theory time:

The 'Zeroes' in the title means that Zero also cloned himself like he did Big Boss.  With all he had going on after Big Boss left, he figured having some dummies around would be a good idea.  Sometime prior to MG, Big Boss is hunting down Zero (GZ) but all he keeps running into is the clones.  Yada, yada, jump ahead to MGS4 where Eva and Ocelot are trying to take down the Patriot system so they can find the real Zero.

Either way...color me interested Kojima.  Color me interested for now.  I like the idea of actually putting the MSF army to use on the battlefield (calling in a helicopter for instance).  Since people who saw it have mentioned 'scale', I wonder if we can get some pretty large conflicts going so you can use Big Boss to either go in guns blazing through the front with his forces or sneaking in during the distraction (or pull forces from a nearby base so you can sneak into that one easier).

nope, stopped reading there. :smileyvery-happy:

thats way too crazy even for Kojima. :smileytongue:

plus why would he need dummies around? he was obsessed with AI, theres no need for clones that could die when he could just make near immortal AI.

i cant wait for some video to come out. all this off-screen second hand info isnt cutting it.

There will never be a video. There has been like two other events where they show off the engine and there was never a video for those. We'll just have to accept the months of waiting before we see a formal announcement trailer.

PAX is in a few days. and TGS is less than a month away.

also, the tagline for the game seems to be: From "FOX" two phantoms were born.

wonder if this is just as it implies, Big Boss and Zero "born" from FOX, or if its one of Kojima's double meanings and "FOX" also refers to the FOX Engine and Ground Zeroes is just one of two games. what a twist! :smileysurprised:

And you people call Kojima crazy. He's genius. So many meanings, so few words. This man can think.

And I think with the whole Snake thing on the poster, I don't think it's Big Boss... He looks too young...

What if it's Solid Snake? :smileysurprised:

looks too young? look at all those wrinkles on his face.

plus he has a MSF patch on his suit, an eye patch and no bandana; its Big Boss.
