I play alot of metal gear and god of war. I have heard good things about mass effect from friends. Do u all reccomend on buying the trilogy or just playing the first one? In addition, should I go get all of the dlc for these games?

i would def recommend buying the trilogy its really really great. it appeals to many diffrent gamers in many diffrent ways. id bet you will like it and find it a worth while purchase. you will easily get 150 hrs out of the trilogy way more if you play each to full completion and the online in me3 is also gonna extend your play time. as for the dlc id say just wait. the trilogy comes with most of the dlc all except one on me2 and all the me3 dlc are missing. so in short buy the trilogy and if you love it by the time you get to me3 just buy all the rest of the missing dlcs.

Mass Effect is one of the best games series to hit the Playstation since the Metal gear series.......my advice to you is buy it,you will not regret it.
As a Solid Snake fan , the characters in Mass effect areas memorable as those in MGS......
After you buy the game and need any advice, feel free to email me and I'll do my best to help you out. Also IGN has some cool wikias that are a good source of info......

I think that all depends on you and if your into RGP type games. There are demos in the PSN store for Mass 2 and 3 but no demo for Mass 1. I would highly recommend you try the demos first before making a decision on whether to buy the trilogy or not. It would be a bummer if you paid the $60 dollars for the trilogy and ended up with games you really didn't like.

I would go so far as to suggest renting #2. I played the 60 minute trial that was available to Plus memebers and hated it. Then I bought the game when I saw it in the bargain bin, and hot dang it became one of my favorite games ever.
Agreed. I thought the demo was garbage, but sure enough, bought the game and loved it. Even got into the ME3 online and usually avoid online at all costs.

ME1 is sooooo boring. I own all three games for PC and only ME2 and ME3 for PS3. The first game just suffers from dragging on and on with little rewards other than seeing how the story develops. Seriously did they have to make players watch them ride the long elevator in the Citadel over and over? ME2 dumbed things down but it was a good decision.
I'd suggest anyone give the trilogy a try because BioWare crafts good storylines. Plus Commander Shepard is a god.

I know that I'm pretty much just reiterating what most people have already suggested....
But I HIGHLY recommend buying the Mass Effect Trilogy.
Mass Effect is unlike any other game series, in my opinion. The series plays like ONE captivating, SMOOTH, SEAMLESS series.
All of the games tie together, and import data of previous decision/actions, so you get a very cohesive and in-depth gameplay/story.
When ever I refer to Mass Effect, I refer to the series as a whole, because it's really ONE big game to me, and it should definitely be played from beginning to end. One of my all-time favorite games/series!
Five playthroughs later, and I still find the desire to play through them all again to continue to experience the game in different ways!

Yes, Yes, and YES, you should buy the trilogy, its a really good idea to play them in order. But the story is so well done and the game is just beautiful.
