Re: 100 Games to Play Before You Die; The MVPs' Top 100 PlayStation Games

Most of those games don't interest me. Not all that surprised some great games I've played aren't on the list. Though I'm really glad to see Burnout 3: Takedown and Burnout Paradise make the list. But seriously, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit, or Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 (Especially this 2002 hit) didn't make the list?

Roger the Alien: "Steve, look at those kids. They're athletes. When was the last time you ran anywhere? I mean with your own legs, not by pressing 'X'."

Uncharted 2 is the greatest game to come out this generation. The experience alone makes it worthy to be number 3.

I've only played 33 games on this list.....

Sony: If it's fixed, Break It

I'd disagree and say that Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is this generation's greatest PlayStation experience. Uncharted 2 only managed to be a repeat of the first game's success with enhanced visuals... and an unoriginal multiplayer experience. It's a great game, but I definitely wouldn't have placed it so high up..

Conversely, I'd also kick Final Fantasy VII from the top of the pile. Shaodw ot the Colossus was one game I was rooting for to make it into the Top 10. Sadly it was not to be.

I don't think I agree gray. UC2 improves on far more then just the graphics. The characters and story are far more compelling then Uncharted Drake's Fortune. But on the flip side I don't think people gave Uncharted DF a chance. Lots of people didn't like it much, yet they loved the 2nd. The mechanics are still the same and the feel is still the same, but the depth of everything from he environments, characters and story make it a far better game and that's without my inclusion of the online.

Cheers, Brrnout

The second game's lead bad guy was better, and the final boss fight definitely gives you more to do. However, even having more depth in given areas didn't manage to outdo the original for me. I definitely felt the first game's story to be more favorable. Eddie Raja, being an old associate of Drake's and the rivalry between them was a lot of fun to see in action versus the one between him and Flynn. The puzzles in the second game were sparse compared to the original. The battle mechanics didn't change, except for there being riot shields now. The multiplayer portion is all just competitive and cooperative modes we've seen a hundred times before, all done with an Uncharted twist.

As said, it's a great game, but I still wouldn't praise the game so vastly.

Re: 100 Games to Play Before You Die; The MVPs' Top 100 PlayStation Games

Great list! I was surprised to see that I had played a majority of these games already. I was extremely happy to see that the Ratchet and Clank series made the list, it is perhaps my favorite video game series of all time. It, along side with the Sly and Jak series', are perhaps some of the best adventure games to ever hit the market. Kinda disappointed to see the absence of Oblivion up there, always thought of it as one of the most well-balanced games I've ever played. Nevertheless, the list is pretty solid to say the least. I'm glad that our fellow Playstation users have such good taste in games

Re: 100 Games to Play Before You Die; The MVPs' Top 100 PlayStation Games

I'm guessing this is mainly a Playstation only list?

In any case.  I would personally throw in the first Deus Ex game.  Other than being on the PC, it was exclusive to the PS2.

That is a game EVERYBODY should play in my opinion.  Moreso now since a proper sequel is finally coming out this... April was it?

Re: 100 Games to Play Before You Die; The MVPs' Top 100 PlayStation Games

indeed, this is such a great list.

I haven't tried GTA series during my wholetime as PS2 & 3 consoles owner in the past.

I'm happy to see the DQ8 listed in the top 30. Many PS2 gamers say it was such an average game; that turned out to be a great game after I played.

Very nice list. But Im dissapointed in the lack of racing games on the list.
