So here I am, as usual annoyed when starting a career in a game.
Why is it I start with no speed, why is it I have no strenth?
Yeah, I do believe in building your RTTS player up etc. But just because your a rookie does not mean your slow, or weak.
Like this guy I use to go with school with, he is very very fast, if he played baseball, he would be quick between bases, but weak in power.
I myself, have a lot of power, and average speed.
Why can't you start out like this in a game?
Then have your building sttributes focus more on timing, clutch, etc..
I completely agree... that is one are where this game is not so realistic.
When you create a new rookie player they don't have to be weak, superbly slow, inaccurate with their arms, and horrile at hitting. It gets frustrating, but if you look at it from another angle it does give you something to work towards... but nonetheless it's not "realistic".
Sony could easily solve this by giving you more points to distribute and raise the cap on some attributes. I think max hitting stats start at 45, why not raise the max to 55-60?
I wouldn't call the RTTS unrealistic, but as stated, players start off way too weak..
Some of the goals however are not realistic. How am I supposed to collect 35 total bases over the next 6 series if I'm coming off the bench? I don't even get an AB some games
So some of those goals could be toned down to be more realistic.
It would be nice to claim yourself as a specific type of hitter (Power, Contact, Speedy, Good Fielder) etc and it would automatically pump your character a little higher in those areas.
Of course there is always the suggestion of allowing your guy to go through a HS or College tournament (like Madden) to determine your player's skill set and stats before the draft...
I think things like this will be added in the future.
