I thought of a few more:
- The headshot sound
- Hip fire isn't garbage, but isn't OP either.
- The grenade launcher is unlocked at a high level and cost a lot of CC
There's one more I can't think of for some reason...
how about the way bunkers, AA, mortar batteries and etc are used in the game.
the way zipper uses them creates a deep and tactical gameplay experience unlike anything i have ever seen.
the different levels of leadership is also awesome.
i think the best part about mag is how fast paced the the gameplay is despite being a large scale team based game.
other large scale team based games like BF have really boring and slow paced gameplay.
Don't me wrong, I love those parts of the game too, but I was trying to list the core gameplay elements that made the game great.
Think of it as three layers.
- The plot of the game. Who are the factions? What is your goal?
- Bring the mechanics together with objectives, map design, and gamemodes
- How the game works <----- What I was going for.
By the way, I just remembered the one I forgot.
- The spawning system
No dying the instant you spawn in (besides parachuting in) and not because of some spawn trapping bull crap (CoD).
The recent Battlefield (Bad Company/BF3) system is almost as bad because you can spawn four people behind enemy lines because of the spawn beacon or because one squadmate happened to be there. Or getting instant deathed because you spawned on a squad mate with some red-dot watching you.
You got red-lined in MAG because your team is clearly getting bested that game. There is no other exuse.
EDIT: Got a weird spacing glitch.
MAG sucks. That is all.
Except for Hunnimonster and the F90.
