how exactly does it work in MAG and how well does it work

I can't tell you how it works. I can only tell you stuff you know. Like FRAGO's. FRAGO lot's of stuff and you will advance in the leadership ranks very fast. And it works very well. If you have a good squad leader on your team(like me) all the bunkers and crap will be gone very fast cause peoplez like they're frago bonuses.

leadership positions will be picked on that players skill and experience

ther will be one officer in charge (OIC) who will give commands to platoon leaders, whoever is around the oic will gain combat bunuses like speed boost and so on when leaders make objectives when someone gets a kill within that objective they will gain extra exp to encourage teamwork
