Re: MAG Developer Tips: Sniper

Mar 15, 2010

WWWWWOOOOOOOAAAAAAAHHHHHHH. Angry because you go killed and not knowing where it came from. Sniping in game does take more skill then spraying bullets. They have one shot... You have 30.

I hope you realize how much a skill sniping is in the real world.

Marksman in the military is possibly the most dangerous job out there. You obviously don't know what the loadout of the Marine marksman do you?

If you are a DM, you have to carry at least three different weapons, plus you're primary sniper rifle, and handgun. That's not even half of it. The handgun may have 5 mags. Your sniper rifle has around 8 mags, plus all the other weapons. The marine sniper carries his precision sniper rifle. Sometimes an anit-material sniper rifle (Could be the Barret... THAT'S GUN BY ITSELF IS ABOUT 40 POUNDS WITH ONLY ONE CLIP!) He also carries a M4A1 SOPMOD, and an M249 SAW... BESIDES THAT.... They have to carry rations, cooking utensils, explosives, different scopes, flashlights, screen to cover backround in a building, first aid... And so much more. They have to practice fieldcraft, which is espionage... WHICH HAS THE BE ONE OF THE MOST DANGEROUS JOBS OUT THERE... OH MY GOODNESS, you're making me cry with your ignorance. You have to be ten times tougher to be a marksman, then a CQC man, assault rifle specialist, or a support gunner. How bout' a little effection for the people who have died protecting their country, and barring the hardest job... And not even getting paid a lot. They have to shoot in positions that you can't sit in for 3 minutes, when they have to sit there, for days not moving. If they're discovered, may God have mercy on their souls.

And don't even make me babble about the SEAL sniper. You're so... I just can't believe you said that.

Have a nice time going to sleep tonight, when you think about what you said.

- You think Splinter Cell is hard? Try being a SEAL marksman, or a Marine marksman. Little **bleep**, you have no idea what stength it requires to be one.

I am a sniper... Always have been... Always will be.
Why aim when you have a 100 round box magazine?

can see you've never Re: MAG Developer Tips: Sniper

Mar 17, 2010

Lol.. I can see you've never atttempted a 120m shot on Mag before Sav.. or you'd know that all Snipers that play on MAG have to lead every one of those shots, not to mention your backtalking the very same people that could have possibly taken out someone that was gonna kill ya , as he was miles away from you. Wether you like it or not Snipers, the good ones are a Key in any assult or defence of an objective, and the idea your trash talking one of the HARDEST classes on Mag and calling them "Noobs" is sad.. Noobs on Mag use LMG's why, simple they have between 74-100 bullets per clip, and regardless the Recoil act as a Street Sweeper, allowing them to take out aprox. 20 ppl in a minuet, Hardest classes to use in MAG are shotgunners and Snipers, whch are all I use myself, cause Shotguners have to get in close, and Snipers are litterally open targets when spotted. So keep in mind that the true Noobs are heavy's oh and about your comment about ppl not complaining about LMG's.. actually thats what people complain about the most, People who Pray and Spray. letting loose 100 bullets in 30 seconds then hide in a corner to reload. LoL personally me, I like you guys, cause second ur sniped from 30 yards you moan about the "Sniper" who killed you, for an easy reason LMG's are too innacurate to shoot us from far ranges, then if I get you cute LMG noobs with a shotgun I'm a "Shotgun Noob" hint hint, Snipers, and Shotgunners need skill to Flank.. or find a nice nest to have some fun, and if a sniper "Spawn Camps" last I check the spawns aren't Linier, and you ether enter a bunker, or a protected area with 3 exits, so.. saddly Spawn Camping isn't possible by one sniper, your just too dumb to choose route B insted of route A in which your feeding a sniper XP. and Ruining your own KD Ratio. and also. hint hint KD ratios make a team win. next time you loose, check the highest KD ratios on your team, then the winning team, key in the MVPs. Fact is, a Good Sniper can support a team from so far away he looks like a blade of grass, but the Best Snipers, are the ones who sit back, and tell a squad where he'll be and IF he's good enough, he'll pop guys and ether kill them, or Mortally wound them so it takes a 1 bullet to kill em' insted of 10.

What did we learn here? Don't Diss what keeps you alive.

Being a Sniper is difficult and useful. My character has a sniper load out and an assault loadout on it that I switch between varying in the game. I use my Sniper load out when ever I hear or notice an enemy sniper far off that has good coverage and is taking out my guys. I use my assault loadout when I want to have a higher fire rate. Overall as either one I have the med kit so I can keep my team alive. That being said If you're a sniper and have sit there while a few meters away one of your guys is bleeding out you should pop up from your nest and heal up then try to get into a better sniper nest. A sniper is a multipurpose tool on a team. To hate on snipers is to cause your team to have a handicap that can cause them the game. Just my opinion though.

Re: MAG Developer Tips: Sniper

Mar 26, 2010

The sad thing about this is that your own team will kill you simply because your a sniper. I re-spec'd as a sniper for about a week just to try everything out, and the amount of players on your own team that decide to kill you is just crazy. It's almost insulting as well when it come's from players that kill less than you, and die double figure's. It took maybe 2 days of solid sniper killing before I got the hang of it, learned a few tricks and hide out spots to get kills. It takes perserverence and dedication to actually get good at snipering. But when your killing maybe 50+ on a defence sabotage mission, and some turnip that's died maybe that many time's and killed like 10 people and they knife you simply because your a sniper.

As a squad though, I see the perks of having one or two decent snipers on your side, and they can play a crucial role. I agree that there are a few that really cannot grasp snipering, and are more often than not a hinderence to the team than helpful, but when your own team decide to kill you simply because your a sniper, that really sucks as a game perspective.

Btw before I get accused of being a sniper and therfore biased to their point of view, I was only trying them out for a week so as to try everything in the game, suffice to say It's sometime's not worth it when your team decide to knife you at any oportunity.

right I have to say the masses are right, I love sniping as much as the next guy every one loves that splat sound and some one's head pops... but one person that doesn’t care about kill death is worth 4-5 snipers easy just coz snipers do nothing... at all just kill. Where as every other class apart from the other campers run in kill ever one and push forward and capture the objectives. My point being what use is some one 120m away from the objective when every one is dead apart from them. so by all means play mag but just do it on suppression and stop dragging every one ells down.

ooo i do have one huge tip to any sniper that likes the bigger games, get a mic people would kill you less if they could understand what your trying to do... or tell you what they need cover over... then you might be handy but in the 30 hours i have played i havent met a snipper with a mic that talks.

Re: MAG Developer Tips: Sniper

Mar 27, 2010

Well most of the kills made on me whilst a sniper came from the other squads, and I almost always have my mic on and pretty much always relay key intel, such as where they are massing, where the other players should be going, and point out others stupidity.

Also with regards to pushing for an objective. What happens when you take an objective and then they push in and go to re-secure it? Takes you too long to respawn and make it back in time before it's re-secured. However if your a decent sniper and are sat at the right spots you snipe them before they even get a chance to re-secure it, and slow them down considerably until your squad gets back in there.

I think people don't fully understand snipers and how much of an impact they can have on a mission. Like when your defending on sabotage and they're attacking C. Sniper's take out a whole chunk of them before they even land. I think at optimium a sniper can take down atleast 3 players in a single drop on their own. The limit really is by how fast you can shoot. Kill more whilst they're dropping = Less making it through to attack C = Easier to defend.

I'm normaly a DA but I do respec to sniper quit often, and I have to say I love to hear the splat sound when you gete head shot. Now to be fair if you are a sniper you should focuse your fire on the objective, and relay important info. to your team like where there massing from or if a mechanic slips by you and is now reparing the AAA or a bunker and you cant get your sites on him. All in all snipers a valuable asset to your team if they know what there doing. And as for those douchbags that knife people on there team just for sniping or being a crapy sniper you should keep in mind that it takes a while to get any good at snipping.

Re: MAG Developer Tips: Sniper

ur honestly challenged in the head....it requires so much more skill sniping than running around with a light machine gun...and yes, people do complain about noobs runnning around with a light maching gun...cause it requires little to no skill to kill with it...u get like 100 f*** bullets.

i started the game with the assult riffles and averaged 400xp a game for sabo.

and then with the sniper i got like 200xp a game....big difference

now im using the machine gun and i realize how much cheaper it is than the assult riffles...

ur f***ing challenged
